New article up, my first with OPERA America. It covers different viewpoints on staging works that are not usually staged in opera houses, with comments from composer Ricky Ian Gordon, director Kevin Newbury, American opera Projects leader Charles Jarden, and, wait for it, New York City Opera General Manager George Steel. I still agree with the ideas he mentions, though it’s odd to read this now. Decide for yourself! And kudos to the layout department- wish I could take credit for those photos.
I also took a moment to update the about page, to finally put my name to this masterpiece.
