A musical and mindful solstice

Why, oh why do I have to work on New York’s most musical day?  Make Music New York, ext Tuesday on the solstice, looks even more fun this year, especially the New Orleans style Second Line march down the High Line, led by the Hungry March Band, whose music has been enlivening my humid Friday. But between my lesson and a rehearsal in the evening I’m going to check out part of John Luther Adams’ Inuksuit, the East Coast outdoor premiere of his ambient (is that the right word?) percussion piece.

In the morning, I might even be motivated enough to do some yoga in Times Square, the solstice Mind Over Madness Event.

Check back for pics!
